2024 Scottish Club Report
2024 started with the AGM
Bruce Lambie, Patricia Goldie and Gareth ward retired from the committee – thank you to you all.
Jim Dyet was re-elected as chairman with Jonathan Gunn re-elected as vice chairman. Joanne Smith & Billy Kirk were elected to the committee.
Stock judging training day
The first event of the year was the Junior Stock Judging training, hosted by Gavin and Anna Brown at the Springfield herd. This year we made an open stock judging to all ages along with a herd walk afterwards and a BBQ. Our two teams for the junior inter club stock judging were selected from this event.
Our teams to represent the club in Northern Ireland were Aimee and Emma Stronach, Heather Duff and Emma McAllister.

The show was well attended with a good entry of Simmentals, Backmuir were Overall Champion with Annick Ginger’s Lucia.

The club held a herd walk by kind permission of Dorothy Moffat. This event was well attended and enjoyed by all thank you to the Moffat family for your hard work preparing for this day.

Scottish National Show
Scottish National Simmental show.
The Scottish National Show was held this year at Turriff. Dorothy Moffat did an excellent job in judging, placing Annick Ginger’s Lucia from Backmuir as her champion with Delfur in reserve place with Delfur Nifty.
Finally the club would like to congratulate Jonathan Gunn our Vice-Chairman and Joanne Smith on their marriage in October.
