DELFUR HEIFERS TAKE FIRST AND SECOND IN CLASS FOUR OF THE 2024 BRITISH SIMMENTAL VIRTUAL SHOW!
Much anticipation around this week’s ‘Big Reveal’ and the largest class to date in the 2024 Simmental Virtual Show, as we publish the results for Class Four – Heifer born between 1st January 2022 – 31st July 2023.
This Class has had the largest entry to date this year with an incredible 134 entries! The standard throughout has again been terrific with any number of stylish, modern British Simmental heifers from herds around the UK just showcasing the strength and depth in the breed. A massive well done and thank you to all of the breeders that have put forward entries. We’re now four classes in this year and have had a remarkable 371 entries to date, up by 56. Fantastic!
So to the results, and it’s a massive ‘tip of the hat’ to Delfur Farms, Rothes, Aberlour who have not only won this huge class but have secured the first ‘one-two’ of this year’s Virtual Show with their ‘dynamic Delfur duo’ of Delfur Weigela N12, and Delfur Nifty. Both of these heifers are familiar to the show ring having won multiple calf show, summer show, and interbreed titles between them over the last ten months! A further well done to Delfur Farms and the herd manager Garry Patterson.
Both heifers are by Ballymoney Larry 20, and with Delfur Weigela N12 being out of Delfur Weigela E12.
Having the significant but fun job of judging this class was Adrian Ivory of the noted Strathisla herd at Blairgowrie, Perthshire. Here are his placings for first to tenth:
1st Delfur Weigela N12
2nd Delfur Nifty
3rd Pitmudie Primrose
4th Denizes Melody 53
5th Kilbride Farm Eunice 370N (P)
6th Coltfield Pandora
7th Corskie New York
8th Cwarre Naughtys Nettle
9th Ashfurly Weikels Naomi
10th Grangewood Tollies Natalie
A big thank you is extended to Adrian and please see his short video with comments on this mighty class.
