The breed saw tremendous trade at the Spring sale at Stirling on Monday 15th February, the pre sale show on Sunday was judged by Gary Christie, Birchfield, Glass, Huntly, Aberdeenshire, AB54 4XS.
122 Bulls sold through the ring to average £5675, an increase of £711 on the year for an 80% clearance, the highest of any breed so far this year.
Topping the day’s trade was the Intermediate & Reserve Overall Champion Kilbride Farm Foreman from W H Robson and Sons, 106 Coghry Road, Doagh, Ballyclare, County Antrim, N Ireland, BT39 0PX, a Crugmelyn Brenin son out of a Milnafua Graduate daughter, selling for 22,000gns to Clive Houldey, Kirtleton House, Waterbeck, Lockerbie, DG11 3HD.
Second top at 17,000gns was Wolfstar Flying Scotsman, bred by Mr A King, Wolfstar, Ormiston, East Lothian, EH35 5NH.
