FLASHY’ KILLIWORGIE MIRANDAS LOTTI WINS THE FEMALE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2022 SIMMENTAL ‘VIRTUAL’ SHOW!

In the first ‘big reveal’ of the 2022 Simmental ‘Virtual’ Show, huge congratulations are extended to Steve & Gill Gummow, Higher Killiworgie Farm, Newquay, Cornwall who have won this year’s Female Championship with Killiworgie Mirandas Lotti.
The January 2020 born Lotti becomes the first heifer to win the Female Championship in what is the third staging of the Simmental ‘Virtual’ Show, and after prevailing in a class of 71 heifers, and 185 females in all across the three female classes.
Sired by the 2017 English National Show Reserve Champion Lynfield Hamish 16, Killiworgie Mirandas Lotti is out Boars Head Miranda EX90, bred by Mr RJ Grenham, and who goes back to the Irish-bred AI bull Seaview Prince Charming.
The Female Championship was judged by Richard McCulloch who runs the noted Overhill House herd at Armadale, West Lothian. Commenting, Mr McCulloch said: “First of all, I’d like to thank the British Simmental Cattle Society for asking me to judge this year’s Virtual Female Championship 2022. I would also like to congratulate the individual class judges who did such a great job – well done!
My Champion is Killiworgie Mirandas Lotti, an outstanding, very flashy heifer, and just my type. Full of breed character, she has a great body with a square end, a good top line and a super head. In my opinion, she’s a terrific Simmental heifer and a very worthy Champion.
I would also like to complement the two other female class winners that were put in front of me. First of all, Haystar Diamond is a real smart calf, well grown for her age and with great potential. Secondly, Gerrard Belinda the 60th, a good working cow with lots of depth, easy fleshed with a good udder – a great advert for the breed.
Well done to all participants that entered this year’s Simmental ‘Virtual’ Show – what an advertisement for this fantastic breed! Congratulations to everyone and wishing you all the very best.”
We’d like to thank Richard and also to echo his comments. Thank you also to everyone who entered females in this years Simmental ‘Virtual’ Show. In recognition of the live summer show season being back this year, we tightened the classes a little and reduced the number to six in all, three female and three male, and followed by the Overall Championships. Again, we’ve had terrific support with 185 entries across the three female classes.
