The British Simmental Cattle Society's Spring sale at Newark on Saturday 28th March saw bulls lead the trade, with Theberton Electric from Mr and Mrs Dowley achieving the top price of 4000gns. The reserve male champion, Storesmith Einstein, sold for 3000gns, contributing to an average of £3150 across six bulls. In the female trade, Midhope Emma from Mr W J Hollingsworth secured the highest price at 2100gns.
