Judging the Stirling Spring pre-sale show was Mr Steven Sandison from Millburn Farm, Harray, Orkney.

Topping the male trade on the day at 14,000gns was ISLAVALE ILLUSIVE 17, bred by Mr W S Stronach, Berryleys Farm, Grange, Keith, Banffshire, AB55 6LN. An ATLOW DIXON 12 EX 91 son, out of a CLONAGH A SUPER STAR daughter, purchased by HJ Warnock, Carrowdore, Co Down.

Second top price, also from the same stable, selling for 11,000gns was ISLAVALE INVINCIBLE 17. A CURAHEEN GIANT 2 son, out of a CURAHEEN BANDIT daughter, purchased by Seamus O’Kane, Drumquin, Co Tyrone.

A further two bulls also secured 11,000gns. Up first was BLACKFORD ISLAND WARRIOR 17, bred by MR W G Macpherson (A Firm), Blackford Farm, Croy, Inverness, Inverness-Shire, IV2 5PS. A BLACKFORD GALAXY 15 son and out of a BLACKFORD VALMER daughter. Purchased by D & G Manson & Sons, Brodieshill, Forres.

Up next to sell at 11,000gns, also from the same stable was BLACKFORD ISLAND ROCK 17. Also, a son of BLACKFORD GALAXY and out of a KILBRIDE FARM DOUBLEACTION 12 EX 93 daughter, purchased by A & B Munro, Wellhouse, Beauly.

Next came INNERWICK IVOR 17, bred by Mr & Mrs L Moffat, Innerwick Farm, Innerwick, Dunbar, East Lothian, EH42 1SE. A son of CURAHEEN GOLD DIGGER, out of a PROMI (PP) daughter sold for 10,000gns to Delfur Farms, Dundurcas, Rothes.

The last to secure 10,000gns was the Junior & Reserve overall champion, WOODHALL INSTINCT 17, bred by H&J Macaskill and exhibited by Geoff & Kate Anderson, Myreside Farm Cottage Myreside Farm, ElginMoray, IV30 5PE.
