Welsh Simmental Club: Annual Report & Key Highlights

The Welsh Simmental Club's annual report highlights a busy year including a successful AGM, a vibrant stand at the Royal Welsh Show where Brandane Millie won Reserve Interbreed Champion, a comprehensive Herd Competition, participation in the Welsh Winter Fair, and a victorious Calf Show where the Francis family won the continental Interbreed section. The AGM saw Meirion Jones elected as chairman, Huw James as vice chairman, Helen Price as secretary, and Chris Walters as treasurer. The Royal Welsh Show stand was busy, showcasing high-quality cattle, with Finlay Soutter taking Overall Simmental Champion and Reserve Interbreed Champion. The Herd Competition, judged by John and June Trafford, awarded Overall Champion Herd to Anthony, Lesley and Harry Davies (Welston Herd). The Welsh Winter Fair stand won first prize for best breed society stand. The annual calf show saw the Francis family win the continental Interbreed section with Pistyll Pablo for the second year running. The club also held its annual dinner in January 2024.
